I just returned from my last official "Room Mom" duty for Rory's kindergarten class. The kids had an ice cream sundae party and then they threw a surprise baby shower for their teacher, Mrs. Mullins. Everyone had a great time and I was surprised that it was a little sad for me.
First, I think that I am little wistful that my little man is going into the 1st grade next year. Now, kindergarten was not the Kindergarten that I remember (you know, playing games, naps etc.). Rory had homework and a full day of classwork. But, even with that difference, it still feels like 1st grade is officially "big kid school".
Second, I really enjoyed hanging out with the kids in Rory's class. They were all so sweet and smart and so much fun to talk to and play with. I loved that whenever I saw them at school or out in town, they would come over give me a big hug. I'll miss that.
Photos below of the new first grader and one with his amazing teacher, Mrs. Nadiya Mullins.
Looking forward to a great summer!

Hey! Since the weather has turned a little more summer-like, we took the kids to get new haircuts. Rory wanted his short "like Dad's" and Fiona decided to go short as well, "just like her friend Jacqui".
I was almost sick when they cut the first chunk off - I was terrified that the Little Princess was going to change her mind. But she was so excited that she was dancing around the salon! Whew! She even made us call her "Jacqui" yesterday. Oh boy.
This is the Little Man's last week of school - hard to believe that the first year of kindergarten has flown by! I have had the pleasure of being one of the Room Mom's and that has been so much fun. His classmates are so sweet and his teachers are amazing. Mrs. Mullins, Mrs. Kelly and Mrs. Pyles - thank you!
Looking forward to the summer!

Fifteen years ago these two crazy kids decided to get hitched right in between graduating from law school and starting to study for the bar. Well, things haven't calmed down one bit - and I love it. Two kids, one dog, one cat, three houses, too many apartments, 5 cars, too many school loans, one boat, two weddings (the first one and a vow renewal in England at the 5th anniversary), two engagment rings (don't ask), two states, lots of fights, lots of make-ups, not enough vacations, and lots of love we are still going strong.
Thanks Pat for the great memories - here's to about 50 more years
I love You,
Robin
The Tooth Fairy came to our house for the first time last night. Little Man's two, bottom front teeth came in behind his baby teeth and no matter how much we wiggled them they would not come out! So Dr J., the dentist, said he would have to pull them. Little Man was such a trooper and said that it didn't hurt and that he never felt a thing! Whew!
So, the Tooth Fairy paid a visit and left two golden, $1 coins and a letter for the Dude. The letter reads:
April 29, 2009
Dear Rory:
Doctor “J” called me to day and told me that you had 2 teeth pulled today. He said that you were very brave, a great helper, and that you are one of his very favorite patients. So, I have left you a special gift for your bravery and for being such a good boy.
I gave your teeth to your Mommy so that she can put them in a scrapbook.
Keep brushing! Keep flossing! Keep smiling!
I’ll see you the next time that you lose a tooth!
Your friend.
The Tooth Fairy
So, we have reached another milestone! Yay!

Little man is playing T-Ball and is doing quite well. He hits well and says that he loves pitching. Tonight he even threw someone out at first base! It is a busy schedule of twice per week - but its fun for everyone - even Nona likes to go!
Last Friday, we spent a good portion of the afternoon in Rory's classroom. First, Pat served as the "mystery reader" this week and read Dr. Seuss to the class. Each week a parent, grandparent of one the kids comes to the class and reads to class and brings a snack. The identity of the reader is kept a secret until you walk through the door - and the excitement is so much fun!
After that, we went with Rory to the "Good Citizen" event with Principal Eichel. Rory was nominated by his bus driver, Mrs. Charles, and he received a button, a pencil, and a certificate. He even had his photo taken with the Principal!
Take care, Robin

Well, Spring has come to our area of the U.S with the dreaded "liquid Sunshine". It teases us with random days of hot, sunny weather and then drenches us or is overcast. I am sure that this is Mother Nature's way of making us yearn for the summer. I am so there!
We ventured out on bikes for one afternoon (pics below) and then entertained the always popular "Cousin Michael". In true Michael fashion, he doted on Rockstar Fi while he was with us. We went to my sister's for Easter and celebrated Lark's first Easter. It was a great time with everyone.
Pics are posted below. Stay tuned for pics of Little Man's T-ball season!

P.S. Just so you know that I really haven't grown up even though I ahve reached the big-40 . . . I hosted a Twilight DVD viewing party at my house. Pat jsut shook his head and amde the big "L" symbol on his forehead. We ignored him and had a blast. pat did stop making fun of us long enough to snap a pic. If you have not read the books . . . you really should.
